The UAE Ministry of Defense reported early Wednesday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a series of ballistic missiles launched from Iran. The announcement was made via a statement on the ministry’s official account on X, confirming that the UAE air defenses were actively engaging the incoming threats.

In its statement, the ministry emphasized its “full readiness to deal with all threats” to ensure the protection of the nation’s territory and the safety of its citizens and residents. The sounds reported in various areas were attributed to the interceptions conducted by the air defense systems, which also included fighter jets targeting drones and cruise missiles.

Authorities have advised the public to follow security and safety instructions issued by relevant agencies in light of the situation. This proactive communication aims to maintain public safety amid ongoing military actions.

In a related context, the UAE condemned a drone attack on its consulate in Iraq’s Kurdistan region that occurred on Tuesday. While the attack resulted in material damage, there were no reported casualties. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized such attacks on diplomatic missions as a serious violation of international law, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and warned that they pose a significant threat to regional security and stability.
