During the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Dr. Mohamed al-Ashwal, Yemen’s Minister of Industry and Trade, engaged in discussions with Dr. Kassahun Gofo, Ethiopia’s Minister of Trade. The focus of their talks was on enhancing economic and trade relations between Yemen and Ethiopia.
Both ministers emphasized the necessity of developing mechanisms for joint cooperation that would benefit the mutual interests of their nations. They recognized the potential for collaboration and the importance of fostering a robust economic partnership.
A significant point raised during the discussions was the activation of the Yemen-Ethiopia Joint Committee. The ministers agreed that revitalizing this committee could play a crucial role in facilitating trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, they highlighted the need for intensified regional and international coordination to increase trade volume. This effort aims to contribute to a sustainable economic partnership, which is essential for both nations as they seek to bolster their economies in a challenging global environment.
