Bahrain’s Defense Force reported on Tuesday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a total of 73 missiles and 91 drones. This action was taken in response to what officials characterized as a “brutal terrorist attack” launched by Iran against the kingdom.

In an official statement, the military described the assault as a “flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter.” The Defense Force highlighted Bahrain’s advanced defensive capabilities and its commitment to maintaining readiness to protect its airspace, waters, and territory. The statement asserted, “We remain the impenetrable shield against any threat to Bahrain’s security and sovereignty.”

In light of the ongoing situation, authorities have advised residents to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. They urged the public to exercise maximum caution and to rely solely on official sources for information. Citizens were also cautioned against filming military operations, spreading rumors, or approaching areas affected by the attacks.

Officials reiterated that indiscriminate attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure constitute a serious breach of international law and humanitarian principles. Bahrain emphasized its legitimate right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and national security in the face of such threats.
