Bahrain’s Public Prosecution has announced the conclusion of its investigations into a series of terrorist cells allegedly collaborating with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to execute hostile actions against the Kingdom. The findings have led to the referral of the suspects to the High Criminal Court for trial.

The investigation uncovered that the individuals involved had engaged in communication with IRGC operatives, sharing sensitive maps and images of critical sites within Bahrain. These communications included messages that implied potential military targets, as well as the transmission of coordinates for sensitive locations through encrypted applications. Additionally, the suspects were found to have circulated visual content that glorified attacks and incited further aggression.

The prosecution’s statement highlighted that the accused also disseminated false information and malicious rumors regarding alleged strikes on key facilities and civilian casualties, aiming to instill panic among the populace. During the interrogation process, some defendants reportedly confessed to their involvement, and technical examinations of confiscated devices corroborated their participation in these activities.

The Public Prosecutor underscored the serious threat posed by espionage and collaboration with foreign entities, characterizing such actions as a betrayal of national interests. He reaffirmed the commitment of the prosecution, in conjunction with security agencies, to remain vigilant in identifying and prosecuting those responsible for these crimes.

Furthermore, the Public Prosecutor urged the public to depend solely on official sources for information and to refrain from spreading rumors, cautioning that misinformation can significantly jeopardize national security, particularly during periods of external threats.
