Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense reported on Wednesday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed nine drones that had entered the Kingdom’s airspace. The interception occurred shortly after the drones crossed the border, demonstrating the effectiveness and readiness of Saudi defense capabilities.
Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki, the ministry’s official spokesperson, confirmed the neutralization of the drones, emphasizing the Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining its airspace security. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding aerial threats in the region.
In a related context, the Saudi Cabinet convened on Tuesday and reiterated its determination to implement all necessary measures to protect national security and ensure the safety of both citizens and residents. The Cabinet’s discussions included a reaffirmation of the Kingdom’s stance against external threats.
Additionally, the Cabinet expressed gratitude for the support from allied and friendly nations that have condemned recent Iranian attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, as well as other Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan.
