The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates reported on Wednesday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted nine drones that were launched from Iran. This incident highlights ongoing tensions in the region, particularly concerning Iran’s military activities and the UAE’s response to perceived threats.

Since the onset of hostilities attributed to Iran, the UAE’s air defense systems have engaged a significant number of aerial threats, including 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,815 drones. This extensive engagement underscores the heightened state of alert and the proactive measures taken by the UAE to protect its airspace and national security.

The ministry’s statement also noted the human toll of these confrontations, revealing that three members of the UAE armed forces lost their lives while fulfilling their duties. Additionally, six civilians from various nationalities, including Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian, were reported deceased as a result of these attacks. Furthermore, a total of 166 individuals sustained injuries, ranging from minor to severe.

In light of these developments, the Ministry of Defense reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and security. The statement emphasized the UAE’s determination to confront any threats and to protect its people and national interests amid ongoing regional tensions.
