Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has reported damage to its Al Taweelah site following missile and drone strikes attributed to Iranian forces on the Khalifa Industrial Zone. The company announced the incident on Saturday and is currently conducting an assessment to determine the extent of the damage.
In the aftermath of the strikes, several employees at the facility sustained injuries, which have been categorized as ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, EGA confirmed that there were no serious injuries reported among its workforce. The safety and security of employees remain a top priority for the company, as emphasized by Chief Executive Officer Abdulnasser Bin Kalban.
The Al Taweelah facility is a significant production site for EGA, having produced 1.6 million tonnes of cast aluminium in 2025. Despite the recent attacks, the company noted that it maintains substantial product inventories across its global sites. Additionally, multiple shipments of aluminium had already been dispatched prior to the escalation of conflict in the region.
EGA’s response to the situation underscores its commitment to employee safety and operational resilience amid challenging circumstances. The ongoing assessment will provide further insights into the impact of the strikes on the facility’s operations and future production capabilities.
