In a significant move towards enhancing healthcare education and cooperation, Dr. Qassim Buhaibeh, Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population, met with a delegation from the University of Rostock on Wednesday in Aden. The discussions aimed to explore avenues for strengthening the existing partnership between the Yemeni health sector and the German institution.

The meeting included key figures such as Dr. Al-Khader Nasser Lasour, President of Aden University, and Dr. Ali Al-Waleedi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Primary Healthcare, along with several academic leaders. Participants reviewed strategies to improve health education outcomes and bolster training programs to align with the evolving needs of the healthcare sector in Yemen.

Topics of discussion included the development of joint academic programs, modernization of curricula, and the initiation of collaborative research projects. These initiatives are expected to lay the groundwork for future cooperation agreements that could significantly benefit both parties.

Minister Buhaibeh highlighted the critical role of advancing health education in establishing a robust and sustainable healthcare system. He underscored the necessity of fostering international partnerships to facilitate the transfer of expertise, update educational content, and enhance the skills of healthcare personnel, particularly in the realm of primary healthcare.

This meeting marks a proactive step towards addressing the challenges faced by Yemen’s healthcare system and reflects a commitment to improving health education through international collaboration.
