Iran’s atomic energy organization has reported that the United States and Israel have conducted an attack on the Natanz nuclear facility, a critical site for uranium enrichment located approximately 220 kilometers southeast of Tehran. The statement, released on Saturday and reported by Tasnim news agency, described the assault as a “criminal attack” by the two nations.

According to Iranian officials, there has been no leakage of radioactive materials from the facility, and they assured that the local population is not in danger. The Shahid Ahmadi Roshan enrichment facility, which is one of Iran’s most significant nuclear sites, was previously targeted during the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel in June 2025.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been informed of the attack and reported that there has been no increase in off-site radiation levels. IAEA Director Rafael Grossi has called for military restraint to prevent any potential nuclear accidents amid the ongoing conflict. The agency is currently investigating the incident.

The White House has emphasized that a primary objective of the military actions taken alongside Israel since February 28 is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has indicated that the intensity of strikes against Iran will increase in the coming week, targeting what he described as the “Iranian terror regime” and its supporting infrastructure.

The situation remains tense as the international community closely monitors developments surrounding Iran’s nuclear program and the ongoing military actions in the region.
