The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted four ballistic missiles and 25 drones that were launched from Iran. This incident underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and the UAE’s proactive measures to protect its airspace.
Since the onset of these Iranian attacks, the UAE’s defense capabilities have been tested significantly, with the ministry noting that its forces have dealt with a total of 345 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,773 drones. This extensive engagement highlights the scale of the threats faced by the nation and the effectiveness of its military response.
Tragically, the ministry confirmed that two members of the armed forces lost their lives while fulfilling their duties during these confrontations. Additionally, the attacks resulted in the deaths of six civilians from various nationalities, including Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian. The incidents also left 160 individuals injured, with varying degrees of severity.
In light of these developments, the UAE’s Ministry of Defense reiterated its commitment to maintaining national security and stability. The ministry emphasized its readiness to confront any threats and vowed to counter attempts that seek to destabilize the country.
