The Deputy Governor of Marib Governorate, Dr. Abd-Rabu Miftah, has inaugurated a new housing project aimed at providing shelter for orphans from displaced families affected by the ongoing conflict in the region. This initiative comes as part of efforts to address the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the war involving the Houthi militia.
The housing project is being executed by the Al-Wusool Humanitarian Association for Partnership and Development, with financial support from the Turkish Waqf Al-Yateem Foundation. During the ceremony where keys to mobile housing units were handed over to the families, Deputy Governor Miftah highlighted the project’s components and the critical role of the Turkish foundation in delivering sustainable housing solutions.
The initiative specifically benefits 16 families of displaced orphans, aiming to alleviate their hardships and enhance their resilience. Miftah noted that the project is designed to provide these families with a dignified living environment, which is essential given the challenging circumstances they face.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor also addressed the broader challenges confronting local authorities in Marib, particularly in fulfilling the basic needs of displaced individuals. He pointed out that shelter, food, education, healthcare, and water remain pressing issues that require urgent attention.
Miftah underscored the necessity for continued intervention from humanitarian partners to support the governorate. He emphasized that such collaborations are vital for enabling displaced families to secure at least the minimum requirements for a decent life amidst the ongoing crisis.
