Aden International Airport marked a significant milestone on Wednesday with the arrival of “Al-Mansoura,” the first aircraft fully owned by Aden Airways. This event was celebrated with an official ceremony, following the completion of the aircraft’s technical and operational preparations. The introduction of this aircraft signifies a pivotal moment for the airline as it transitions into fleet ownership, which is expected to enhance its operational capacity and expand its services.
During the inauguration, Abdul-Salam Al-Wardi, Vice Chairman of Al-Qatibi Group, emphasized that the arrival of “Al-Mansoura” represents the official launch of the Aden Airways project. He highlighted the group’s vision to develop Yemen’s aviation sector and improve its regional and local presence. Al-Wardi also mentioned that the company has ambitious plans for expansion, including the enhancement of operational capabilities and the introduction of new destinations, with a second aircraft anticipated to join the fleet soon.
Captain Saleh Bin Nahid, Chairman of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, conveyed congratulations from the Transport Minister and underscored the significance of the new aircraft. He stated that this addition marks a qualitative leap for Yemen’s aviation sector, broadening travel options and strengthening the country’s global connectivity. Bin Nahid also stressed the importance of modernizing national fleets as a strategic necessity for reinforcing air sovereignty, supporting the economy, and creating job opportunities.
Engineer Jamal Al-Shaer, General Manager of Aden Airways, described the welcoming of the company’s first fully owned aircraft as a turning point in establishing a national airline dedicated to serving citizens. He noted that this achievement is the result of continuous planning and intensive efforts to bring the project to fruition. The arrival of “Al-Mansoura” is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing regional and international connectivity for Yemen.
