HODEIDA, Yemen – A camp for internally displaced people (IDP) in the al-Haymah area, located south of Hodeida governorate, was targeted by bombardments from Houthi militias, resulting in injuries and widespread panic among residents. The attack occurred in the al-Tuhaita District and involved the use of three mortar shells.
According to local sources, the assault caused significant distress, particularly among women and children living in the camp. The violence has heightened fears for the safety of those already vulnerable due to their displacement.
One individual, identified as Abdulmajid Abdullah Ali Nahari, sustained serious injuries from shrapnel, affecting his abdomen and lower chest. He was subsequently transported to al-Khawkha Field Hospital for medical attention.
The ongoing conflict in Yemen has led to a humanitarian crisis, with many civilians caught in the crossfire. The targeting of IDP camps raises concerns about the safety and protection of displaced populations in the region.
