In a recent meeting in Aden, the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Jaasous, engaged with Bert Scott, the Director of the Office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, to discuss strategies for enhancing women’s empowerment in the country. The dialogue focused on strengthening coordination and collaboration to address the challenges faced by women in Yemen, particularly in the areas of qualification, political training, and economic opportunities.
During the discussions, Dr. Jaasous highlighted the significant obstacles women encounter, especially in terms of gaining access to education and economic resources. She emphasized the ministry’s alignment with government priorities aimed at national recovery, which includes implementing policies designed to improve women’s status and increase their involvement in development and decision-making processes.
