The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted four ballistic missiles and 25 drones that were launched from Iran. This incident underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and the UAE’s proactive measures to protect its airspace.
Since the onset of these Iranian attacks, the UAE’s defense systems have engaged a total of 345 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,773 drones. The ministry’s statement highlights the scale of the threats faced by the nation and the effectiveness of its defense capabilities.
Tragically, the ministry confirmed that two members of the armed forces lost their lives while fulfilling their duties during these attacks. Additionally, six civilians from various nationalities, including Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian, were reported dead, with 160 others sustaining injuries of varying severity.
In light of these developments, the UAE Ministry of Defense reiterated its commitment to maintaining national security and stability. The ministry emphasized its readiness to confront any threats and vowed to counter attempts that could destabilize the country.
