The Minister of Civil Service and Insurance, Salem al-Awlaki, engaged in a video conference on Tuesday with Abda Sharif, the British Ambassador to Yemen. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in institutional reform, addressing various issues related to service conditions within the Yemeni government.

During the meeting, both parties explored the technical assistance mechanisms available to support the Yemeni government’s reform initiatives. Key topics included the reform of the pension system, the development of public institutions, and the integration of young professionals into the workforce based on established professional standards.

Additionally, the conversation highlighted recent support from Saudi Arabia, which al-Awlaki emphasized as crucial for the continuation of government reforms and the improvement of public services. This support is seen as a vital component in the broader efforts to stabilize and enhance the functioning of state institutions in Yemen.

Al-Awlaki expressed appreciation for the United Kingdom’s role in supporting the Yemeni government, particularly in its endeavors to restore state institutions and alleviate the hardships faced by citizens. He underscored the importance of the bilateral relationship between Yemen and the UK.

In response, Ambassador Sharif reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to assisting the Yemeni government and its ongoing efforts to restore state institutions, indicating a strong partnership aimed at fostering stability and reform in the region.
